The energy, colour and interaction with the public make every spectator feel as though they are right in the middle of Carnival in Rio.

Created by Rose Oliveira, the production pays tribute to Brazil’s cultural diversity. Choreography is by Jeane Pernambuco and Paulo Cristo, with music directed by Jorge Cardoso. The stage is also graced by characters familiar from Carnival, immersing audiences in the atmosphere of Brazil’s most famous festival. Their high-energy performances evoke the joy and passion that accompany Carnival – an event that is the very soul of Brazil.

Ginga Tropical draws inspiration from a book by Darcy Ribeiro about the shaping of Brazilian society. The show blends dance, music and storytelling, highlighting the spirit of Carnival as a symbol of unity and the celebration of life. Every rhythm and movement radiates the atmosphere of the great festival that draws millions to Rio each year.

The 2024–2025 season brings new features – the show now pays homage to Milton Nascimento, one of the greatest artists in Brazilian music. This new element enriches the performance, emphasising the spiritual side of Brazilian culture and weaving it together with the energy of Carnival.

Ginga Tropical is not just a show – it is an experience that lets you feel the spirit of Brazilian Carnival in all its intensity and joy. If you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of samba, dance and music, and sense the magic of one of Brazil’s most important events, this performance is an unmissable part of any visit to Rio de Janeiro.
